PACLOCK Launches RD-Series, Expanding High-Security Lock Systems from Perimeter Gates to Everyday Padlocks
SANTA CLARITA, CA / ACCESS Newswire / March 13, 2026 / Pacific Lock Company® (PACLOCK®) today announced the launch of its RD-Series high-security rotating disc cylinder technology, expanding high-security lock systems across the most extensive lineup of PACLOCK padlocks ever offered.
For decades, rotating disc cylinders have been used where organizations require strong key control and resistance to manipulation. However, these systems were typically limited to a narrow set of lock formats, forcing facilities to use high-security locks in only a few critical locations while relying on entirely different lock technologies elsewhere.
PACLOCK's RD-Series changes that model.
With the RD-Series, PACLOCK has integrated rotating disc cylinder technology across a wide range of padlock types, allowing organizations to deploy a single high-security key system across an entire operation-from perimeter gates and infrastructure access points to equipment containers, storage areas, and job-site assets.
In practical terms, the same high-security key system can now extend from the perimeter gate to the smallest lock on site.
High Security Without the Traditional Complexity
Historically, deploying high-security lock systems often required specialized ordering processes with limited product choices. Expanding those systems across multiple lock types could be difficult and expensive.
The RD-Series simplifies that process while maintaining strict key control.
Each RD system provides guaranteed key number exclusivity and manufacturer-controlled key duplication. When customers begin a new system, they receive a System Card containing a unique System Code required whenever additional keys or keyed-alike locks are ordered.
Without the System Code, additional keys cannot be produced.
Built for Demanding Environments
PACLOCK's RD-Series uses a 12-disc rotating disc cylinder with more than two billion possible key combinations and an integrated anti-drill spin plate.
Rotating disc cylinders are widely known for durability in harsh environments, performing reliably in dirt, freezing temperatures, saltwater exposure, and long-term outdoor use.
PACLOCK's RD cylinder technology has been tested against Federal Specification FF-P-2827A, which evaluates forced-entry resistance, surreptitious-entry resistance, drill resistance, shackle strength, and environmental durability. The technology has been approved for use in U.S. military General Field Service Padlocks (GFSP).
Extending High Security Across an Entire Facility
Military installations illustrate the challenge the RD-Series addresses.
Rotating disc cylinders are commonly used in General Field Service Padlocks (GFSP) to secure perimeter gates and critical infrastructure. However, the same cylinder technology has historically not been available across many other lock types used throughout an installation.
PACLOCK's RD-Series solves this by integrating rotating disc cylinders into multiple PACLOCK lock bodies, including smaller diameter padlocks, container locks, and other specialized formats-allowing the same high-security key system to be used across an entire facility.
Availability
The RD-Series is available now across PACLOCK products. Customers can explore RD-Series locks on PACLOCK.com, purchase through Amazon, or work with PACLOCK distributors and locksmith partners to design high-security systems tailored to their application.
